Tisn’t the Season . . . Yet!

Tisn’t the season to be jolly quite yet, but the holidays will be here before we know it.  With possible online taxation changes on the horizon to help out states and fight showrooming, and perhaps an improved economy, the 2012 online holiday shopping season (which surged to $37.2 billion in 2011) could be the biggest ever.

With increased sales comes a spike in customer support inquiries, and the holiday rush can put a real strain on a venture’s customer service team.  If a merchant wants to stay on track with fast and friendly customer interactions, one option is to grow its team internally and take on more and more agents.  But recruiting, training, equipping, and outfitting those agents is time consuming and expensive, and then letting them go after the holidays can be demoralizing.
