The Freedom to Travel!

When I first started working with Metaverse four years ago, I was intrigued by the possibilities of working from home, but I didn’t really know what I was getting into.

I’ll admit, my first thoughts were along the lines of “Aww-yeah! Guess who doesn’t have to do her makeup before going to work anymore?” and “Pajama pants? Totally acceptable.” While this was fun for a bit, I eventually found that keeping up with the routine of dressing up and making myself look work presentable helped keep me focused and in work mode. Little known fact: doing your job is so much easier when you’re wearing respectable pants.

It was not long before I realized my amazing work situation allowed for much more than casual office attire and flexibility, but it meant that I could work and travel… my ultimate dream!  All I need is a hotspot or access to solid wifi, and I can visit friends, travel to new places, explore the world, and much much more.

In fact, it is because of this job that I’ve been able to check off one of my top Bucket List items. Without a whole lot of planning, I up and moved to New York City for about a year. I knew I wouldn’t stay forever, I’m too much of a small town girl at heart. Living there for a while was the best experience and I would’ve never had the confidence or ability to do it if I hadn’t been able to keep my same job while going through the moving process.

After my year of adventure in New York City, I decided to mix things up even further and move even further down south than where I grew up.  I’m a Floridian now, and I think I am here to stay (although I do miss snow from time to time).  For the most part, I’ve retired my super large suitcases, and now I’m content to embark on an occasional weekend getaway.  But, should the need for a wild road trip spark my fancy once again, it is because of the great opportunities in Metaverse Mod Squad that I know I will be able to travel once again!
