ModSquad’s 2020 Bestofus Festivus
It’s time for the Festivus feats of strength. Every year we haul out the Festivus pole and honor that one person at ModSquad who best embodies the ModSquad spirit. We call this person our Bestofus Festivus. This is someone who goes above and beyond in their performance, handling their work with the utmost professionalism and skill, and inspiring the rest of us as a great representation of ModSquad culture.
This year’s Bestofus Festivus (drumroll, please) is Misty Hammett! Misty has been with ModSquad for more than a decade, starting as a moderator and growing right along with the company! In her current role as Senior Payroll Analyst, self-starter Misty just “owns” payroll, which, let’s face it, is the department that really keeps the company running. This dynamo has helped steer the payroll ship through a time of dramatic, explosive growth for ModSquad. Impressively, she somehow does it all without error. Given the volume of hours and shifts she processes through our payment systems, this is a truly remarkable feat.
On a daily basis, aside from getting us all paid (thanks, Misty!), she signs up new workers and gets them set up in our payment system. She helps current workers and juggles dozens of daily inquiries from people all over the world. We’re tired just thinking about it, but she manages to do it all with a genuinely cheerful, friendly attitude that can’t be beat! She’s a true marvel.
Behind that hard work ethic and unflappable demeanor is a bright spirit with a song in her heart. A musical wunderkind, Misty’s talents have been chronicled before on the Mod Blog. She’s an avid singer who’s served on the leadership team of the Houston Show Choir in recent years, and has also taught choreography for the group.
Given her fantastic work ethic and that lyrical spirit, it’s no wonder people were chomping at the bit to offer words of praise for Misty. With her knack for charming everyone she interacts with, Misty has made a lasting impression on her ModSquad colleagues:

A magnificent day!
When we celebrate peer brilliance
In a very ModSquad way
So put on your holiday cap
And pull up a seat
As we share a Misty-cal tale
Of a person quite neat
She works awfully hard
With dollars and cents
And everyone is quite thankful
For our timely payments
From Mod to PM,

If there’s questions at hand
She helps with a wink
The voice of an angel,

Bringing support to all people
In her Misty-fying way
Her hard work is legend
And her outlook is clear
