ModSquad’s 2019 Bestofus Festivus

ModSquad

It’s time to polish the Festivus pole and celebrate one of our favorite annual traditions at ModSquad. December 23 marks the arrival of Festivus and with it, the cherry on top of our month-long celebration — the naming of 2019’s Bestofus Festivus! This high honor is bestowed upon the individual who, over the past 12 months, best personified the passion, dedication, and work ethic that make up the defining characteristics of ModSquad’s MVPs.

We’re delighted to reveal that ModSquad’s 2019 Bestofus Festivus is Brian Fuhrman! Those who haven’t had the good fortune to work alongside Brian may best recognize Brian for the dulcet tones of his broadcast-ready voice. He’s put it to good use as the tireless host of this year’s Extra Life fundraising marathon, as well as in ModSquad’s accompanying video promoting the event.

Brian joined ModSquad back in 2010, after meeting SVP, Global Operations Rich Weil. He was using his smooth-’n-silky vocals on an online radio service that provided 24-hour live DJ and event services to MMORPGs (massively multiplayer online role-playing games to you non-gaming Luddites). Recognizing talent when he saw it, Rich told Brian about ModSquad, and the rest is history. Having started as a Mod, Brian is currently a Project Manager extraordinaire for the company, with a specialty in the video game space. Based in Florida, he’s a beloved part of the ModSquad family, with an exuberance for projects and people that is matched by his remarkable skills. We’re so pleased to offer our congratulations to Brian for his fantastic work. And even more importantly, those of us who know Brian consider ourselves fortunate enough to call him friend.

Singing Santa surprises Brian with his Bestofus Festivus award

It’s no surprise that everyone at ModSquad who interacts with Brian comes away with nothing but superlatives, raving about not just his work but about Brian himself. Check out some of the kudos we received about the man from his coworkers:

“I’ve worked with Brian here at ModSquad from his very first day, years ago. He has not only grown with the company but has established a stellar reputation as a gifted manager who can deal with just about anything. With clients, Brian is an extraordinary diplomat. With his peers, he is helpful and constructive. With his teams, he is inspirational, positive, and empathic. ModSquad is very fortunate to have Brian onboard, and I’ve been lucky enough to work with him on quite a few projects. I’m looking forward to many more! Congratulations, Brian!”
— Rich Weil, SVP, Global Operations

“Brian is always very positive and displays a can-do attitude. Brian takes a proactive approach to projects and is quick to loop in management when needed. He has excellent working relationships with clients, management, coworkers, and others on the project. Brian helped us expand our business into a new region, he was a key player in Extra Life this year, and is a super-nice guy all around.”
— Steve Henry, VP, Client Services

“Brian Fuhrman embodies everything that we want our Project Managers at ModSquad to be. He’s smart, proactive, and cares deeply about the clients and the Mods on his projects. He also has a super-positive attitude that makes every day of work more fun! I consider myself fortunate for having been able to work so closely with Brian over the last few years, and look forward to many more years.”
— Jason Ferguson, Sr. Director, Client Services

“Brian was a rock star on the Extra Life fundraising team, stepping up to emcee 25 hours of the Extra Life event. He brought a new sense of energy and engagement to the event as the host. He’s also done some pretty amazing client work during the year. I’m a big fan. Congrats, Brian!”
— Amy Kennedy, Chief Marketing Officer

“I’ve been working with Brian since I onboarded him back in 2010. He is loved by clients and coworkers. He’s very smart and really understands ModSquad’s business and the services we provide to our clients. Brian manages one of the largest projects at ModSquad with ease and finesse. Year after year, he’s an integral part of ModSquad’s participation in our Extra Life fundraising event. And while a melodious voice is not a job requirement, it doesn’t hurt, either! I am most thankful to work with Brian and look forward to many more years ahead!”
— Gina Miller, Director, People Operations

Ode to Brian Fuhrman
by Izzy Neis, Sr. Director, Digital Engagement

There was once a man named Brian Fuhrman
With a voice as distinct as Ethel Merman
He’s a stream moderation pro
And a gamer troll foe
And a manager as strong as General Sherman
.

The new winner of Bestofus Festivus
Can charm the glee from a gloomy gus
He works really hard
Could be an audio bard
But he dedicates his talents to the rest of us.

As the year comes to an end
We have the privilege of celebrating a friend
Here’s to a talented exceeder
A genuine ModSquad cheerleader
Brian Fuhrman, you’re truly a godsend.

All of us at ModSquad offer our congratulations — and thanks — to Brian. Please be sure to join in the fun and congratulate Brian in the comments section below.

Here’s wishing everyone a fantastic 2020!
