ModSquad Partners with UKIE at This Year’s Gamescom Expo
If you’ve read our blog for a while or perused our site, you’re probably familiar with the story of ModSquad getting its start in the virtual world of Second Life. Since then, we’ve continued our passion for the video game industry by providing player moderation, customer support, and related services to some of the biggest names in the industry.
In fact, some of our marketing brochures talk about how we don’t leave those vital moderation and support tasks to “n00bs,” and that “we grok gaming.” It’s our fun way of letting gamers know that we’re gamers, too. In fact, many in our Mod network are avid gamers; they’re the ones who compete to work on projects for our gaming clients. When we tell prospective clients that “your players already work with us,” that’s no exaggeration.
Not only is gaming a part of our work duties (told you all that gaming would pay off one day, mom and dad!), but many of us do it during our down time. From people who still spend time in Second Life to company-wide fundraising initiatives, ModSquad lives and breathes gaming. That holds true for our people all around the world, who provide services to gaming companies in dozens of languages from lands near and far.
Given that, it’s no surprise that you’ll often find us at the major video game conferences throughout the globe. One of our favorites is Gamescom, at which we’re regulars. We’ll be back in Cologne, Germany again this year from August 21 to 24, meeting and greeting clients, industry insiders, and gaming enthusiasts. This year, we’re thrilled to be partnering with the UK Interactive Entertainment Association (UKIE), the only trade body for the UK’s games and interactive entertainment industry. This not-for-profit entity tirelessly promotes large and small games businesses that provide top-notch entertainment for online, mobile apps, consoles, PC, eSports, VR, and AR. Like ModSquad, UKIE firmly believes that the talented individuals developing tomorrow’s top titles are driving innovation and technology that can boost the game-entertainment ecosystem as well as other industries.
We’ll be setting up shop at UKIE’s booth during this year’s Gamescom event, so if you’re heading to Cologne for the expo, be sure to stop by and say hello. We’ll be sharing advice and insights from our years of working with the video game industry and would love to meet you. Who knows, we may be able to swap a few cheat codes while we’re at it!
