Got a list of fan sites, product review links, and blogs on your official site?

When was the last time you clicked those links?

If it was more than three months ago, I’ll bet at least one of them now leads to an advertising dump site, two of them go to 404s, and one is now promoting fetish porn.

None of those things inspire confidence from your customers. It only takes one single bad link before your customers (and potential customers checking up on you) start to wonder how trustworthy and up to date your entire website is. One rotten piece of sushi makes the whole tray taste funny.

So don’t buy sushi from grocery stores, and set yourself a monthly link checking schedule.
