All the Hearts: Things Mods Love in 2022

ModSquad

It’s no secret: Our Mods are a passionate bunch. From helping clients’ customers, brightening a caller’s day, or making the internet a little safer through smart moderation practices, there’s a lot of heart in everything that we do. So with Valentine’s Day fast approaching, let’s celebrate the things — and people — that bring smiles to our Mods faces.

Ashley M.: 3C’s — Coffee, creative cups, and the Chiefs

“This may be a bit unconventional, but I really love coffee. Going over to my coffee station, choosing a cup from my collection, and pouring my morning joe sets me up for success during the workday. It’s a little thing, but it has become such an enjoyable part of my schedule, I just feel off without it. Thank goodness for caffeine and creative coffee cups!

“Also, as a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan, I’m really loving the six year postseason streak. There have been some rough stretches in the past 30 plus years, but KC and the Chiefs will always hold a special place in my heart. Whether or not they’re bound for the big game, it’s nice to have a great team to root for!”

Viviane D.: Music is life itself

“Music makes me fall in love. The beat relaxes me and makes me focus. I love listening to the tones, the harmony, and the instruments, each of which has its own unique personality. Music is my partner during workouts or when I need to study for an upcoming test.

“It’s also a great way to take a trip down memory lane. Tom Jobim’s The Girl from Ipanema reminds me of spring in Rio de Janeiro; Jay-Z’s Empire State of Mind makes me nostalgic for a winter trip to New York City; Adoniran Barbosa’s 11 P.M. Train brings me back to São Paulo, my hometown. All of this nostalgia makes me smile.”

Noe W.: Spilling some tea

“As odd as it seems, waking up each morning and following my routine before coming into work is a quiet pleasantness. On the rare days I miss my routine, the whole day seems off. Also, making some hot tea and sitting outside with the dog grounds me. I blame one of my colleagues for my tea addiction. They sent me a Korean tea set with tea leaves, and it was like being transported onto the sun! I’m forever a tea snob now.”

Matt R.: Keep calm and garden on

“I really love my plants and garden. There’s something quite meditative and calming about working with and caring for plants. It teaches patience and the joy of delayed gratification. It fascinates me how different yet similar each kind is. If you boil it down to basic needs, plants and humans aren’t too different; all we need is food, water, light, and some kind words of affirmation.”

Maria R.: It’s the little things

“I love how my coffee tastes in the morning, opening my large living room window and feeling the fresh breeze and the sun’s rays, and seeing my son smile every day. We enjoy roller skating together, going to the beach, and seeing the sunsets. The sunrise at the beach is my favorite thing in the world. I love eating, tasting new flavors, trying new drinks, and enjoying a mango or an orange.”

Jaroslawa K.: And baby makes three

“My fiance, Juan, and I are soon finding out our baby’s gender. I’m five months pregnant and we’ve been waiting to find out since day one. We already have names: Kalina for a girl and Maximo for a boy. We’re planning to celebrate by sharing the news with our family in our favorite restaurant.”

John A.: Game night is family night

“For the past few years, my sons and I have been making games, which I love. It’s a way to keep them learning, do something fun, and enjoy quality family time. So far we’ve made games for PC, web, and mobile, as well as a card game. We’re currently working on a board game that we hope to have done by spring.”

David H.: Happily ever after

“I truly love my wife. She’s the most supportive person in my life, and is always there for me in the good times and bad. We have good conversations and are also able to be comfortable around each other even when we’re quiet. When you have someone in your life who’s there for you no matter what, good or bad, that’s as close as it gets to ‘happily ever after.’ That’s what I share with my wife.”

Rochelle H.: A ModSquad family

“I love my family, which includes my husband, our teenage little one, and our surly feral trash cat, Lyra. My husband recently became a Mod, and having him as a part of the Squad makes me so very proud. We’re officially a ModSquad family, through and through!”

After reading these testimonials, our hearts are filled to the brim (but not with coffee, Ashley!). So with that, we’re wrapping up this year’s Valentine’s Day inspired article! May the day — and the entire year — be filled with happiness.
